This curved staircase is the central focus of the entryway. Z&O
mimicked iron ballusters that they had taken out of a brownstone
in New York. Windows and lighting have always been an integral part
of Z&O’s design. They used an eyebrow window in this hall to flood
the staircase with light. Herringbone cherry wood flooring was used.

A custom handrail was designed to accept ones fingers in this foyer
with a front door of leaded glass designed by Zwirko & Ortmann.
A romantic archway welcomes guests as they arrive.

A library was important to this client so Z&O built a raised floor
off the living room to create a distinctive area with beaded pine
bookcases and flooring. Hand hewn oak ceiling beams and textured
plaster ceilings completed the look.

The client had a strong love of the water which was taken into
account during the design phase of this project. The nautical influence
is evident in the loft area. Oak structural beams and random pine
ceilings with plastered walls are distinctive features of this room
as well.
